Caesar is a wonderful, unusual breed called a Lowchen (Lion Dog). Although he may not be purebred, he is very close. He is bright, happy, funny and social. Gets along great with other dogs; not sure about cats. Caesar recently went to an assisted living center on a visit, and was a perfect gentleman. Very calm, happy, and loving to be petted.
Since Lowchens are not a common breed, we can only guess at Ceasar's story. Was picked up as a stray at an out of area shelter where no one came to claim him. Fortunately, the shelter did not euthanize him when he was not adopted (Shelter was being forced to euthanize for space) and he was sent to our rescue. Please read up on this unusual breed before adoption. Caesar is about 17 lbs., and is 2 years old. Caesar's adoption fee of $350 includes all services listed on our website
Please read the following carefully before applying:
YOU MUST HAVE A SECURE, FENCED YARD TO ADOPT ONE OF OUR DOGS. PARTIAL FENCING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Please see side menu for an explanation.
As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY. NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
We require adopters to first fill out our adoption app online. You cannot proceed with the adoption without it. This application has been developed using over 25 years of experience. It helps the adopter and us to make only the beginning of a good match; please be advised that if you do fill out the application, you may not be suitable for the dog you are applying for OR you may not meet our adoption requirements.
WE DO NOT ADOPT OUR DOGS TO HOMES WITH UNALTERED PETS...NO EXCEPTIONS! WHY? CLICK ON SPAY/NEUTER ON THE LEFT HAND MENU.
