Meet Gus!  He is short but long on personality!  Gus is a happy-go-lucky guy who would love a young family with kids to entertain him.  He is 1 year old, 37 lbs., very sturdy, loves kids, and would love a family who didn't leave him alone for long periods of time.  He is a beautiful red mahogany in color.

Gus had to be surrendered by his owners due to unforeseen circumstances which is why he is looking for a new home.  Gus does great with other dogs and in fact, would love to have other doggie playmates of a similar age.  He is fine around cats and did we mention that he loves kids?  Because he really does.  He might need some obedience training (not to jump up for starters) and because of this might not be a good fit for kids under 5.  He is for the most part, good on a leash but does tend to pull.  These are all things that can be corrected with time, patience and training.  He would love to go camping, on hikes, or just hang out with his humans.  Gus' adoption fee is $250 and includes all medical.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
