Angel is just like her name - a real sweetheart.  She is a Maltese mix, about 11 lbs, and 3 to 4 years old.  She plays and acts like a puppy.  She was terrified when she came to us (see video on facebook) but now is happy, social and loving.   She was given up by her owner  who said she could no longer keep her but had her since she was a puppy.  She was basically dumped at the shelter, who then called us to rescue her.  This poor dog, as with so many, was used to being in a home, then dumped in a shelter with so many terrifying sounds and smells.  She is now out of the kennel and doing great.  Angel will need a human who can give her daily walks (and not just around the block), may do ok with kids over 8 but we aren't sure about cats.  She does great with other dogs and wants to play and run.  Because of recent experiences we would prefer someone who was home most of the time.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
