Snickers is one extra special boy! He was picked up as a stray along with two other poodle companions; the other two were claimed and the owner also admitted to owning him, but declined to take him back. Poor boy, left in the shelter while his companions were taken from him. But probably for the best in the long run. We aim to find Snickers a much better home than he came from. This is one reason he's special. The others are that he is an absolute doll in looks and pers onality. For you poodle fanciers, read on.
Snickers is about 4 to 5 years old, but acts like a puppy. He can run circles around the other dogs. Is trained to basic commands, and we think that at one time he might even have been shown. Just a guess, but he knows how to "stack" (stand in a particular way and even seemed to expect to be "baited" (given treats while stacking). We can only guess his background; perhaps started in showing or training then stopped for whatever reason. Whatever the case may be, he s a wonderful dog and will make someone an excellent companion. But be ready for that poodle energy! He will need daily exercise, probably more than once a day.
Snickers' ideal home will be with someone who can devote time and energy to him, ok with kids over 5, and loves other dogs. He is a handsome mini, long-legged but definitely not a toy, at 15 lbs. Snickers' adoption fee is $300 (includes all medical) and worth every penny, in our opinion.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY. NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
