Here's what Emma's new family has to say:

Good evening barbara.  happy november!  just giving you an update and send you some pics of our precious emma.  she is fitting in just fine in our household.  she and our younger boston, bean, are getting along like brother and sister, running all over the house and furniture.  we can't keep those two apart.  this is just what bean needed since our older boston could not keep up with him.  hope all is well with you and once again, you are a blessing to the animals you take care of.

UPDATE ON EMMA:  Emma is cleared of any bladder infection!  The stones were examined and it was determined that she had suffered from a bladder infection that went untreated for so long, that that is the reason the stones developed.  She will need to remain on a special diet for awhile, and will have to have more urinary analysis to make sure the infection doesn't come back, but we think with decent care, Emma will lead a long and healthy life.

Meet Emma, she of the long tongue!  She's a super sweet, social little gal, very loving.  But oh, is she a hyper little gal!  This girl will definitely need another hyper little, same size doggie playmate and frequent walks.

She is a cuddle bug, wants to be in your lap and has the cutest expressions.  Often times, she thinks the world is a very startling, curious place.

Emma was an owner surrender who was severely neglected.  Her owners couldn't afford to pay for vet care and as a result, she had severe ear infections (the canals were so swollen that they were closed shut), fleas, eye infections, and bladder stones.  $550 dollars later (our vet gave us a $300 discount), she is on the mend.  But her bladder condition will require frequent monitoring through urinalysis to make sure the stones don't come back.  Emma will have another urinalysis in two weeks (around Sept. 22nd) and we'll know more then. (a urinalysis at our vet costs $35, if you bring it in yourself).

Right now, we're accepting applications for this little gal.  If your home fits the bill, please fill one out and we'll consider you for this special baby.  She won't be available for adoption until after the 22nd.  Teenagers ok, but no younger kids please.

Adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, flea treatment, heartworm test and preventative, wormings, and all other medical care needed to ensure a healthy dog.  Fees vary, based on the care required, age and needs of the animal.  We rely strictly on our adoption fees since we don't receive any outside funding.

Please read about our adoption policies and procedures before calling or emailing with questions.  Many of your questions can be answered by reading our information.  Keep in mind that the first step toward adoption is to fill out an application.  Also, WE DO NOT SHIP!
