Lady has been adopted by a wonderful family including a 19 year old daughter who adores her. Her new mom is retired and can spend as much time with her as needed and of course daughter will also in between work and school!
She is an only child now and will be showered with love and attention. Lucky Lady...
Lady is a 4 year old long haired doxie who is shy and quiet. Her previous owner had to give her up because of severe asthma and allergies. She is a survivor though, and would love a home with a woman who has the time to be with her and treat her like the princess she is.
She also would like to have another small dog playmate - she had a red mini doxie for a playmate before. As with most breeds she seems to know her own "kind" - when we go to the dog park she ignores all the other dogs unless they are doxies or doxie mixes.
Lady originally came from a puppy mill so was not socialized properly. Lady is doing better at meeting new people. Her foster mom often takes her to the Pawz For A Cause Thrift Store and she actually goes up to some people and does a slow tail wag. Children would not be appropriate for this girl - she needs a quiet home without a lot of commotion.
Lady is a sweetheart but has a very big fear of men so if you have a man around the house, she would probably run from him. She is ok with her foster's husband but he has never tried to make friends with her - if a man reaches out to pet her, she freaks. Since the foster's husband knew before hand what she was like, he knew that he should just ignore her. Now, when he has treats for the dogs, she comes and tries to get her fair share. He has actually been able to coax her up into his lap with food as a motivator.
Also, she is potty trained to potty pads. She will go potty outside on the grass, but you have to keep a sharp eye on her. She doesn't know how to tell you. She will start pacing in front of the door, though. And if its raining - forget it. She does not want to get wet (lol)! If you leave the room and she can't get to you she gets too nervous and sometimes will have an accident. But in spite of that she is a super, super loving little girl - wants to be in your lap all the time. She will put her cheek against yours and melt. She will bond like this to any female human.
