Sohpie is an Affenpinscher mix that came to us from an out of area shelter, where she was so scared that when people came to look at her, she cowered at the back of the kennel and because of this, no one wanted to adopt her.  But the shelter staff knew that she was a great dog, just scared.  So they contacted us to see if we could take her and of course, we couldn't say no - and glad we didn't!  She's a super dog, gentle, kind, loving and will make somoene an awesome pet.  She bonds very quickly and prefers women but will get along fine with men too.  Once she bonds with you, its like glue - she doesn't leave your side!  Sophie would love someone who is home most of the time.  She's so gentle we think cats won't be an issue.  She would probably prefer a quiet home without kids.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE.
