Baxter is a gorgeous 4 year old Shorkie (shih tzu/yorkie mix) .  He has stunning gold eyes that plead with you to take him home!  Just give this boy a chance and you won't regret it.  He is fun loving, happy, social and easy going.  He's friendly with everyone and will get along with female dogs, but not males.  He could stand to lose a bit of weight; he probably weighs somewhere around 20 lbs.  So someone who walks would be a great advantage to this guy, and also regular, measured meals with limited snack/treats.  Please a secure, fenced yard is a must for this boy as he was found as a stray and seems to be the curious, investigative type.  Not good with cats or young kids, teenagers ok.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE.
