Shaggy is the most adorable little ham we've ever seen!  He is a purebred Bichon with apricot shading (see AKC info below).  He is such a ham, we couldn't stop taking pics of him!  He's about 4 years old but full of energy and life, and true to his breed, loves everyone and everything.  Shaggy would be most appropriate for an energetic family or person, but only older, considerate kids please and also someone who is home most of the time.  Once his fur grows out and is groomed in a true Bichon cut, he will be even more handsome.  Right now, he is just a little teddy bear waiting for that special someone to hug him and hold him - he will be sure to give you back all the love he has to give.

AKC Meet the Breeds®

A cheerful, happy dog, the Bichon Frise is small and sturdy with a dark-eyed inquisitive expression and a plumed tail it carries merrily over the back. The breed is often compared to a cotton ball due to its curled double coat, which consists of a textured outer coat and a silky undercoat. The coat must be white, but may have shadings of buff, cream or apricot around the ears or on the body.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.  We require adopters to first fill out our adoption app online. You cannot proceed with the adoption without it. This application has been developed using over 25 years of experience. It helps the adopter and us to make only the beginning of a good match.

WE DO NOT ADOPT OUR DOGS TO HOMES WITH UNALTERED PETS...NO EXCEPTIONS! WHY?  CLICK ON SPAY/NEUTER ON THE LEFT HAND MENU.

In order to adopt one of these wonderful pups please see the side menu under adoption info.
