Joy is just like her name, a joy to be around.  She's a super sweet, very mellow, 1 year old wire haired doxie mix.  She would be a great addition to a quiet home or family.  She's very friendly with everyone, but shy in new situations.  She is the cutest little thing with her bit of wire hair sticking up on her head!  She weighs about 11 lbs.  She will make someone a very loving companion.  She absolutely adores kids!

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.  We require adopters to first fill out our adoption app online. You cannot proceed with the adoption without it.
