Daisy is a very sweet, very energetic young 6 month old fox terrier cross who is looking for a special home.  She weighs about 15 lbs right now, but will most likely put on a few pounds as she matures. She will not get any taller though.   She is very loving, very puppy-like and loves, loves, loves to run as you can see from her video!  Daisy and her sister Petunia, came to us from horrible circumstances.  A grow in the mountains was raided and local authorities called our rescue to come get the pups and mom (they know that our Executive Director will do whatever it takes to rescue animals in need).  The puppies were confined to a very small puppy pen and had never been let loose.  As you can imagine, the pen (which was about 3 x 3), was extremely filthy.  These pups came to us not only covered in feces, but very terrified since they had never known anything else besides their immediate surroundings.  But now, they are finding joy in being set free.  Daisy's ideal home would be with a young, small dog to play with, long hikes/walks everyday, lots of play sessions with toys. And someone who will not leave her on her own for long periods of time during the day.  This one would make an ideal hiking/jogging companion.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
