Sarah is a very sweet, but very shy, unsocialized purebred Border Collie, about 8 mos. old. (BC fanciers will know that they come in a short-haired version, such as hers).   Sarah will need a breed experienced home ONLY as she has all the instincts of a BC.  We are hoping that whoever adopts her will be able to train her and give her a job.  Sarah cannot be left alone for long periods of time so a so only a stay at home mom or dad or those that work part time will be considered.  Sarah was bought from a ranch in the mountains when she was young by inexperienced owners; hence, her appearance in rescue.  A sad story, but one that is repeated too many times.  Sarah does warm up to humans after awhile but is slow to trust.  She does well around other dogs.  Cats would not be a good fit for her, nor children under the age of 12.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
