Athena is an 8 month old GD who has lived in horrible circumstances her short life. She was kept in an 8 x 10 kennel outside, in the dirt, with two other large dogs. Not fed properly, as is obvious from the photos, not given any kind of stimulation but does love people and other dogs. She is just a big, goofy girl who so desperately wants a home to call her own and people who will give her the life she missed out on so far.
She is so sweet and so loving and will make someone a great companion. She will need to be introduced gradually to the world and what it has to offer. Her ideal home would be with someone who is breed experienced, who can physically handle this extra large girl and hopefully another large dog to show her the ropes. Please, no children under 10. Gastroplexy for torque surgery included in medical. fee is $500 and includes all medical.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY. NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
