|
Daisy has won the heart of her new adoptive mom. She loves her Rosie and they are playing non stop. She eats well, isn't as frightened any more, and cuddles up with mom and Rosie at night in bed. When mom gets home from work, she gets the Daisy "scream". Yes, it sounds like she's been hit by a car, but she actually screams, she's so excited to see her! Another match made in heaven!
Daisy is out for a try out with the family that adopted Rose, her sister! We're so happy that she was able to be with Rose again! Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well - but it seems to be, as reported by her new mom. She ate as soon as she got there, and wanted to be held by her new mom. Of course, sister Rose is a tad bit jealous, but she'll get over it!
Daisy was used as a breeding machine for all of her 3 years, and was kept in a backyard, 24/7, no matter the weather. She was fed and properly cared for, but since she never went out of the backyard her whole life, is now terrified of the big world around her. She only wants to be held and loved, but is too scared of kids (teenagers ok). She relates best to a female human.
She is not your typical chihuahua who shakes all the time, barks alot and maybe growls at strangers. She is very mellow and will let you do basically anything with her (like dress her up and take pictures)! She doesn't mind being carried in a purse and is the perfect size for it.
Daisy MUST have at least one or more other dogs around her, but only small dogs, no large or medium sized dogs. She is too used to living in a pack situation to change now. She doesn't care for hyper dogs or puppies, though and is too stressed by their energy. She needs a person who will be home most of the time and someone who will be persistent in their attempts to bond with her, as she is not easily persuaded that humans are all good. She will need someone who is quiet and gentle in manner, is willing to carry her around the house and not leave her for long periods of time, and who knows that it might take up to 6 mos to a year for her to act like a normal dog. We will wait for that wonderful person, and Daisy will turn out to be the best dog they ever had!
Please read about our adoption policies and procedures before calling or emailing with questions. Many of your questions can be answered by reading our information. Keep in mind that the first step toward adoption is to fill out an application. Also, WE DO NOT SHIP!
All animals are bathed and groomed before adoption, vaccinated with proof of vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and also are sent home with a leash, collar or halter, toy and food to get you started.
