A WONDERFUL, CALM LITTLE GUY
About SKEET | |
|
|
Skeet has been adopted by a very active, independent lady whose 16 year old tft passed away in October '09 a month before her husband passed away. Since they both left her, Elsa has been very lonely, and when it was time, her grandson and fiancee' found Skeet for her on petfinder. What a wonderful match! Here's what Kaitlin (granddaughter to be) has to say about this relationship: The little dog is attached to
Elsa's hip, he doesnt notice me and brian to much lol. he's a little old
lady lover. When you left he was trying to get back to you but ended up
getting side tracked by the scotty mix he met yesterday and a tibetan
terrier. He played with them, spotted a squirrel, and found himself a
couple of ducks. He's been sitting with elsa constantly and follows her
wherever she goes always staying in her line of sight. Elsa is refusing
to buy the costco chicken strips because she wants to buy them in small
quantities so she knows there fresh. lol. I'll write you again tomorrow
and keep u up to date on Skeet.
And here's more: He did great, Elsa woke up at 7, he slept in tell 730. lol. She took him for a twenty minute walk this morning that turned into an hour and half long visit at the little dog park we walked through. She kept him on an extendible leash ( she wont take a chance of a squirrel luring him away lol). He already has the little scotty mix as a playmate, and anettes dog buddy, and a few others. After the walk he played with his toys and his tail was up. He ate his dog food, and of course lots of treats. Elsa didnt need to be reminded about anything, he's the center of her world now. Potty breaks, Zyrtec, walks, you name she's done it! She really needed someone there with her to spend her time with, I'll try really hard to keep him from being completely spoiled. He's still glued to her, and he sleeps beside her in bed, although he's very content to sit on her lap and nap. I think he's starting to realize Elsa's house isnt a bad place to be, treats, back scratching and loads of love. So far so good!
And more: Hi, Spent the last few hours with Elsa and Skeet, Elsa's been feeding him steak, lol, and she calls him Sweets instead of skeet. He plays in the dog park everyday and Brian brought his pomeranian over too her house to play with him as well. He is still attached to her and never strays more than a few feet away. He is acting very happy, ive taken a few pictures on my cell, i ll try to post them on here tomorrow or i can just show you on friday when Elsa signs the contract. Skeets made friend with all of the old people, he's very popular, and hes such a good little dog. Beats me why the old owner took him to the pound.
Skeeter is a wonderful little guy whose elderly owner passed away. The spouse of the owner could no longer care for him so he turned him into the pound. Poor little guy, lost his beloved owner, then his home. So many sad stories, and his is just one.
Skeet's foster mom owns a 7 year old TFT herself, so couldn't let this little guy suffer. Skeeter is 8 but looks and acts younger. If you know the breed, that is typical and they can often live up to 17 years with proper care. He loves to play with toys, is very strong and muscular, and runs like wild at the dog park.
Skeet is a bit timid until he gets to know you, then he's your shadow. He is extremely well-behaved, and minds well - quite the gentleman! He has never had an accident in the house, even when its raining. If you tell him to go outside and go potty, he does; if you tell him to go to bed, he does; If you tell him to be quiet when someone comes to the door, he immediately stops barking. (he's not a barker in general). He loves to ride in the car, go on walks or just hang out. He'd be a wonderful lap companion for someone who is home most of the time.
So many of our adopters love their senior pets. Here's what one has to say about hers:
Skeet would do well with kids 16 and older. His ideal home would be with an active retired person or couple.

Picasso/Puff is doing fantastic. We adore him. He is laying next to me and snoring gently.
What a sweet guy he is. I am so glad that you allowed us to take
him home. There is something so special about these little senior
doggies.
