A CALM, HAPPY LITTLE GUY
About TALBOT | |
|
|
Talbot has been adopted by a wonderful couple from Washington. He'll be an only "child" and will get all the love and attention he deserves! Here's what his new adoptive dad has to say:
Barbara,
Talbot is a 10 mos. old purebred shih tzu, waiting for his forever home. He's very small, and probably won't get much bigger. He was rescued from a puppy mill but doesn't have any health issues or temperment problems. He's friendly and actually quite calm for a shih tzu. To be considered for this dog, pleaes fill out our online application.
Adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, flea treatment, heartworm test and preventative, wormings, and all other medical care needed to ensure a healthy dog. Fees vary, based on the care required, age and needs of the animal. We rely strictly on our adoption fees since we don't receive any outside funding.
Please read about our adoption policies and procedures before calling or emailing with questions. Many of your questions can be answered by reading our information. Keep in mind that the first step toward adoption is to fill out an application. Also, WE DO NOT SHIP!
Barbara,
As you can see, we made Talbot a perch so he
can look outside and he really loves it (see pics below). He also loves his new bed,
beds actually, the one shown below only being one of four scattered
around the house. He really likes being outside too a lot. We put him
in a pen on the deck yesterday since the weather was so nice for a few
hours to see how he like it, and he just laid on the bed and enjoyed it
all. This morning he was very enamored with the squirrels barking and
chirping. Guess he never heard those sounds before at your place.
He
has not shown any interest in any of his new toys, so we're not sure
what that means. More importantly (to Naty and and I anyway), he also
let us sleep all night long and we gambled again, letting him roam free
all night long in the bedroom. He tried climbing up onto the bed, but
a quick correction and we went back to his own bed. No surprises when
we got up, but he did want to go outside. :)
His
appetite seems to be picking up a little too, but he has not "said" a
word, no barks, growls, or whimpers. Naty is now wondering if he has
vocal cords. :)
So far, he is the PERFECT little puppy dog. Please pass on our
appreciation to everyone at the Rescue Animal Coalition for giving us
the opportunity to adopt such a special little guy as Talbot. What a
fantastic Thanksgiving this has been for the McMahan family!
Take care,
Jerry and Naty
