Ayla was adopted by a wonderful, retired woman who will have all the time in the world to devote to her because she will be an "only child" (except for a cat).  Here's what Ayla has to report on her first day in her new home (with her new mom's help of course)!

Hi Mom!  I had a really exciting day.  I slept all the way to Chico and then we stopped by my Auntie Jan's work.  She just loves me and took me around to see everyone she works with.  Then Carol and Joan needed lunch so we stopped at Togo's.  Aunt Carol went in and got lunch to go while Mama Joan walked me  Oh! I forgot to tell you Aunt Jan walked me around that office building so I could go potty.  It was a long ride from Redding.

Then we went to my new home.  Joan walked me around the yard and showed me the other entrance into the house.  We went back inside.  Then Carol came back and brought loud mouth Jody  with her (Carol's dog).  That was awful.  She just wouldn't stop barking at me so Carol took her home.

After we had snacks and Joan had lunch we had a new adventure. We went back down to Carol's and I met Lily.  A little hyperdog and she was excited to see me.  We went across the street and met CiCi and her dog Porter.  I guess I scared him.  All he did was shake.  Now we took the long trip up to the mail box and then around the corner.  The wind was really blowing.  On the way home we stopped at Reba's house and met her mommie and dad Wanda and Jerry.  Reba shared his braided rawhide chewy with me.  Reba was really nice. We went home then and fixed dinner,  I like it here and we play "fetch".

Ayla had to be given up because her owner was moving into an apartment that didn't take pets.  She is a friendly, energetic little girl, about a year old and weighs 14.5 lbs.

Ayla does fine with the dogs at her foster home but with new dogs she meets, she has a tendency to want to dominate.  If the other dog is submissive, this can cause problems.  She does better with male dogs rather than females.  She is also very possessive of toys with other dogs.  She will not let another dog take a toy from her and will growl and snap if it tries.

Ayla's perfect home would be with active people who like to hike or walk alot or other physical activites that can be done with a dog.  She would also prefer to be an only child, we think.

No kids under 10 please.

Adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, flea treatment, heartworm test and preventative, wormings, and all other medical care needed to ensure a healthy dog.  Fees vary, based on the care required, age and needs of the animal.  We rely strictly on our adoption fees since we don't receive any outside funding.

Please read about our adoption policies and procedures before calling or emailing with questions.  Many of your questions can be answered by reading our information.  Keep in mind that the first step toward adoption is to fill out an application.  Also, WE DO NOT SHIP!
