KADIE IS NOW LIVING THE LIFE OF THE PRINCESS SHE IS, IN CHICO, CA WITH TWO WONDERFUL HUMANS WHO WILL GIVE HER THE UNDIVIDED ATTENTION SHE CRAVES (IN OTHER WORDS, NO OTHER ANIMALS IN THE HOME!) hERE'S WHAT HER FOSTER MOM RECENTLY HAD TO SAY:
Lizzy (Kadie) continues to be the sweetest, cutest, cuddliest dog in Chico. It is unbelievable how much we enjoy her. She is a little spoiled, but actually a pretty well behaved dog. She thrives on routine and gets a bit insecure when her routine is changed. If she gets in trouble with me she runs and hides behind Ed and when he getes mad at her she runs and hides behind me. It is a crack up to watch. She often tilts her little head from on side to the other when we talk to her as if seh could understand us if she could just get her head at the right angle. We do love that dog! Thanks again for bringing her into our lives. Have a wonderful Christmas, Judi

This little girl is so sad... Her human mommy recently died, and the surviving family members couldn't keep her. So they took her and her lifelong doggy companion to our local shelter. Her buddy was adopted, but not Kadie for some reason. Even the shelter workers couldn't figure it out, and we still can't either. She is one of the most loving, gentle and sweet dogs you could ask for. Her previous owner must have loved her and taken good care of her, because you couldn't ask for a more social, playful and great companion. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that I couldn't have any more dogs, you wouldn't be seeing her offered up for adoption!
She is about 1 year old and weighs only 6 lbs. We're pretty sure she is a purebred Yorkie whose tail didn't get docked. Her colors are blue and gold. Its possible she might have some long haired chihuahua in there somewhere; I guess we just can't tell for sure though!
We are asking a $350 adoption fee for this girl, so that she can help out with our other older and more needy dogs who aren't as adoptable.
Kadie's needs:
1. I really want her to go to a special home. That home would need to have people who are around most of the day, who don't have small children or cats, because Kadie does NOT like cats, no exceptions.
2. I would prefer that she go to a home without another dog, or just one other small dog, since she really seems to need that extra added attention. And be prepared if you have another dog, for her to be the boss. She will not tolerate the other dog demanding your attention - she can be very possessive and will snarl and attack the other dog if she doesn't want it in your lap. She won't bite, but she definitely gets her message across with her actions and sounds! You'd think she was Cujo! But that's what being the alpha dog is about, and if that is upsetting to you and your other dog, than she's not the one for you. I am working on this with her, but it will take time.
3. She likes to sleep in your bed, and she's a very finicky eater, so be prepared to buy the dog food from the pet store and not the grocery store. She loves to go places, likes being in a doggie purse, and doesn't mind getting dressed up.
4. She likes older kids, especially teen agers, but doesn't want to be in the company of younger children.
In other words, she is a dog that was meant to be spoiled!
So if you think you can meet Kadie's requirements, please fill out our preapp and send to our email address. PLEASE do not call our listed number. She is not being fostered at that location, so you won't get any information. I promise that I will answer all emails from those who send preapps within 24 hours. Thanks for considering a resuce dog.
