Izzy is a very sweet , tiny 6 lb, 10 year old purebred Maltese who really needs a home for the holidays.  She was dumped at a shelter by her owner; we're not sure why other than the fact that she desperately needed a dental cleaning.  That has been done and the vet has pronounced her healthy and ready for adoption.   Izzy is calm and well mannered but still has quite a bit of energy and spunk left in her life.  She is used to a quiet, calm foster home and we hope that we can find the same forever home for her.  One older, calm small dog companion would be fine or she would also love to be the only center of attention.  She will make someone a wonderful companion.

YOU MUST HAVE A SECURE, FENCED YARD TO ADOPT ONE OF OUR DOGS.  PARTIAL FENCING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.  Please see side menu for an explanation.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
