Meet Hera, a 110 lb., sweet-natured, 2 year old Great Dane. Hera is a wonderful dog, but had to be given up by her owners because she chased livestock. As you can see, she is just as happy lounging about if she doesn't have any other 4 legged critters to chase. Hera is good with other dogs, including small dogs, as she lived with a dachshund. But absolutely no cats, birds or farm animals for this girl. Hera has had her stomach stapled to prevent torque which is common in Great Danes.

YOU MUST HAVE A SECURE, FENCED YARD TO ADOPT ONE OF OUR DOGS. PARTIAL FENCING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Please see side menu for an explanation.
As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY. NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
We require adopters to first fill out our adoption app online. You cannot proceed with the adoption without it. This application has been developed using over 25 years of experience. It helps the adopter and us to make only the beginning of a good match; please be advised that if you do fill out the application, you may not be suitable for the dog you are applying for OR you may not meet our adoption requirements.
