This is Redmond, or Big Red.  He's an English Bull Dog/Pug mix or a Miniature Bull Dog.  Red was used as a breeder in a puppy mill that was shut down in a neighboring county.  Red and his mates were living in an outside pen covered in feces.  You can imagine what this was like for this type of breed who is prone to skin issues anyway.  Poor babies, they were so neglected.  As you can see, Red has quite a few rolls that he needs to grow into!  He's a big boy, presently at 21 lbs, but might be able to safely put on a pound or two.  Red is 6 years old and has been fully vetted.  The dogs were tested for skin mites but all they were suffering from is bacterial skin infections which have been easily treated.  With care, they will have shiny, lush coats.  When you meet Red in person he will remind you of an English Bulldog.  He is super sweet, affectionate and mellow just like most pugs and bull dogs.  Red has not been tested with kids or cats.  Older, considerate kids over the age of 10 might be ok.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
