Duffy is most likely a purebred Australian Silky Terrier although he weighs a bit more than the standard.  He is a very sturdy little guy, very sweet, but has had no training. He is about 1 year old and will make someone a great companion who has the time to spend with him.  He probably has never been groomed and didn't seem to like it but settled down once he realized that he couldn't get his way.  We got all the mats out and now he just needs to have a refresher trim.  Duffy would be great with someone who has the time and energy to spend walking him daily, taking him to training classes. He is very social and happy.   We do not know how he is with children or cats.  We are looking for an active home for Duffy, since he is probably just under a year old, with someone who can corral that puppy energy in a positive way.  Also, Duffy is not housetrained.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE.
