Thank you for considering fostering an animal for ResQ.  We are always in need of caring foster homes, so your application is important to us.  Please be as detailed as possible in your answers - we want to make this a good experience for you.

At this time, we are only able to accept foster homes in Shasta County. 

Also, please realize that fostering can sometimes be a very time consuming and challenging opportunity.  Many of our dogs will be scared and anxious, sometimes not very well socialized, and more often than not, not housetrained (diapers and belly bands can be lifesavers!).  It is good to be prepared for these issues and we will give you all the support and training that you might need.   If you feel you are not up to the challenge, please be honest with yourself and don't go forward with the application.  Its a difficult situation and hard on the animals when someone agrees to foster, takes an animal, then backs out.   

Some of our more important policies and regulations that you need to be aware of:

Each foster family MUST

1)  have a secure, fenced yard. 

2)  fill out an online application.

3)  have a home check prior to fostering.

4)  abide by our adoption policies and regulations.  (we will go over these with you during the home check).

In addition, we will provide vet care and it would be great if you could transport the animal to vet appointments.  If not, other arrangements can be made.  

All current pets must be altered.
